If you’re like most drivers, you’re often in a rush. The daily demands of work, school, and errands mean you don’t have a lot of time to clean your car. However, if you follow these tips to keep your car’s cabin neat and organized, you’ll find you can often save on time and enjoy a nice and tidy space every day.

Cup Holder Hacks

Make the most of your cup holders by placing a small plastic cup in them at all times. This will serve as a useful collection bin for loose change, cords, and other miscellaneous objects that always seem to end up scattered throughout the car. Using these cup holders makes routine hassles like finding change for parking meters or fast food stops easier than ever.

Another great cup holder idea, especially if your car doesn’t have enough cup holders, is to take a muffin tray and place it inside a laundry basket. Put this in the back seat to have a dozen cup holders ready at a moment’s notice. This is most useful when you have a car full of passengers.

Use Seat Covers

Do you have pets that are always leaving hair or fur on your seats? How about children who are notorious for spilling their sugary drinks or leaving crumbs between the seats? You can easily eliminate these problems by purchasing an easy-to-install seat cover. These come in hammock designs to keep pets safe as well as more straightforward cover models.

You’ll also get the added benefit of protecting your upholstery from scratches, sun damage, and general wear and tear. This simple organizational product will relieve you from the pressure of feeling like you constantly have to vacuum the seats.

Bring Along Garbage Bags

Take an empty box of tissues and stuff it full of plastic garbage bags. You probably have plenty of these left over from your last trip to the grocery store. Keep this box in your back seat and pull it out whenever you’ve got to quickly empty your car of accumulated garbage.

Fast food wrappers, empty drink containers, and receipts all have a way of piling up in the glovebox and on the seat next to you. If you’re about to pick up some passengers and need to make room, having these garbage bags handy will make cleanup that much easier.

Use a Hanger or Carabiner

Attach a clothes hanger or carabiner clip to the backs of your car’s seats or from the hanging clips by the rear windows. Then you can hang your purse from them, preventing it from toppling over and spilling its contents all over the car every time you hit a bump in the road.

These hangers or clips are also useful for fragile items like bread and eggs after you go grocery shopping, as they won’t be squashed when the other items in your car shift during a turn. Just be careful to make sure they don’t obstruct your view out of any of the windows.

Keeping your car organized and neat can be a challenge, but these life hacks can make everything a little bit easier.
