The Arc of Sedgwick County is a community center specifically focused on helping families and people with developmental and intellectual disabilities and hosts two awesome Thanksgiving dinners. more The Thankful Feast and Dance is hosted by Cross Road Church. All of the classic Thanksgiving dishes are provided, and guests are welcomed and served by volunteers. This dinner is free to attendees, but donations are encouraged to support the other dances The Arc hosts every Tuesday night throughout the year. Invitees include anyone with intellectual or developmental disabilities, their families, and staff members. The second Thanksgiving event hosted by The Arc is the "Friendsgiving" meal for the Young Adult Club. On November 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., guests can enjoy good food and a great time. This event is also free of charge, but attendees are asked to bring something yummy to share. RSVPs are appreciated by November 12. Final Friday Gallery Crawl Once you've had your turkey and stuffing, the holidays are just getting started. The Final Friday Gallery Crawl is one of Wichita's most popular cultural events. The day after Thanksgiving, various art galleries in Wichita will be open. Both regional and local artists have their work on display, and many will be for sale. You may even find a beautiful and unique gift for someone you love. Get started in the Commerce Street Art District on Commerce Street, south of Waterman Street, and head to the Old Town Square. Kyle and Monte Christmas Musical The Kyle and Monte Christmas Musical is a fun and hilarious way to bring in the holiday season. This musical comedy has shows on November 16-18, 23-25, and 28-30 and throughout the month of December. Each night, the doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Enjoy dinner and drinks from the cafe in the Roxy's theater. This show is rated PG-13, so it's best enjoyed with friends or co-workers. Tickets start at $20 for economy seats, $27 for standard seats, and $30 for premium seats. Get there early for happy hour from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. You must be at least 18 years old for entry without an adult and 21 to grab a drink. As of 2017, over 30 food trucks have popped up across the city, and that number will likely continue to grow. So if you're in the mood for street-style cuisine but don't quite know where to look, here's a list of some of the top food trucks in the area. The Flying Stove It wouldn't be fair to discuss Wichita food trucks without mentioning the city's first installment: The Flying Stove. It opened in 2011 as a leading pioneer for food truck culture and has been satisfying diners ever since thanks to tasty menu offerings like burgers, sandwiches, and tacos. more Favorites here include the Chicken Doobie Taco (a flour tortilla filled with rosemary chicken, caramelized onions and peppers, garlic, pepper jack cheese, and arugula) and the truffle fries decorated with a parmesan cheese and thyme dressing. Nothing beats a good steak. Wichita, Kansas, is full of bistros and restaurants where you can get this delicious entrée, but not all establishments stand out as the best in town. Here are three elegant restaurants in the Wichita area that specialize in steaks and are well-worth your attention. Greystone Steak & Seafood Greystone Steak & Seafood is one of the most sophisticated and beautiful restaurants in town. The atmosphere is classy in a way no other local restaurant can match. If it's a steak you're after, no matter which you order, the cut will come from wet-aged, Midwest, corn-fed beef. Here are the steaks you can choose from at Greystone: more 6- or 8-ounce filet. 12-ounce bone-in filet. 10- or 14-ounce NY strip. 14-ounce rib-eye. 14-ounce marinated rib-eye. 22-ounce cowboy rib-eye. 20-ounce porterhouse. The restaurant also serves several specialties, including pork chops, Colorado lamb, and seafood platters. For drinks, you can pick from a wide selection of wines, cocktails, martinis, and beers. The dinner menu has four steak options: 8-ounce prime center-cut filet. 12-ounce prime Kansas City strip. 12-ounce prime rib-eye. 10-ounce Bavette flank steak. The same options are available for lunch, except the center-cut filet and rib-eye aren't prime. Siena also has a comprehensive wine and cocktail list to accompany these entrees. The steakhouse is part of the Ambassador Hotel, and it's within walking distance of downtown Wichita and Old Town. So, if you're looking for entertainment after your meal, check out the events in the hotel or near this part of town. You can also stick around for drinks at the bar. Siena Tuscan Steakhouse is at 104 S. Broadway. The kitchen is open Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., it stays open an extra hour on Friday, and it opens Saturdays and Sundays at 6:30 a.m. and closes at 11 p.m. and 10 p.m., respectively. The bar is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Scotch & Sirloin The atmosphere at Scotch & Sirloin is formal, modern, and inviting. You'll immediately notice the impressive wine collection. In fact, this restaurant is nationally recognized for its wines and wine service. Four-person tables and booths for larger parties are available. Scotch & Sirloin is at 5325 E. Kellogg Dr. It's open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sundays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wichita is a fantastic place to crave a steak.
